Deborah (Debbie) Farrell is a Senior Director at Harris Rand Lusk concentrating on development, marketing, and communications searches. She has over 17 years of direct experience leading fundraising and strategy for nonprofit organizations. Successful in meeting or exceeding high fundraising goals, Debbie has worked with organizations in a number of sectors including the arts, education, human services, health, advocacy, and faith-based programs. She has a demonstrated track record in institutional fundraising, major gift work, and the design and implementation of strategies for the web. Her work has led several nonprofits to win national social media fundraising competitions. Debbie has also built development offices from the ground up including the creation of staff positions, technical systems, and operational procedures.

Debbie regularly consults on corporate and foundation solicitations, major gifts, planned giving, and capital campaign solicitations. A graduate of the College of the Holy Cross, she spent time in California working at Loaves and Fishes, a day program for homeless men, women, and families. In Boston, Debbie fundraised for a homeless day shelter, then served six years as the Director of Development for HopeFound, one of the largest homeless-service agencies in Massachusetts. In New York City, she led a successful capital campaign for Congregation Beth Elohim, Brooklyn’s largest Reform Jewish congregation. Debbie has also served on a number of boards and is currently President of a Connecticut-based youth scholarship foundation.
