We are seeking a highly organized and diligent Research and Operations Manager to join our dynamic team. This pivotal role is at the heart of our operations, ensuring the smooth execution of searches and providing critical support to the CEO and the broader team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the nonprofit sector, exceptional multitasking abilities, be highly organized, a good writer, and possess a proven track record in managing complex projects and processes.

Key Responsibilities

Candidate Sourcing and Research

  • Working with the search lead, develop and implement search strategies to identify and recruit qualified candidates for nonprofit leadership roles.
  • Post job descriptions on targeted job boards and maintain a list of effective posting sites.
  • Research and outreach to potential candidates; maintain and update accurate spreadsheet of candidates and contact information.
  • Maintain organized files of candidate resumes.
  • Conduct initial outreach by phone screen or Zoom with prospective candidates, assessing qualifications and alignment with client needs.
  • Play a role in candidate evaluation by offering insights on qualifications, cultural fit, and alignment with client organizational goals.

Client and Candidate Coordination/Scheduling

  • Schedule and manage either virtual or in-person interviews for candidates with internal team members and clients, ensuring all logistics are handled efficiently.
  • When required on select searches, serve as the primary liaison between candidates, clients, and HRL staff, facilitating clear communication throughout the search process.
  • Prepare candidates for client interviews, offering insights into the organization and tailored coaching.

Operational Management

  • Provide administrative support to the CEO, including managing his calendar, scheduling meetings, and arranging candidate and courtesy interviews with nonprofit professionals.
  • Maintain up to date list of searches on HRL website.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic support to colleagues, assisting with outreach, scheduling, and other elements of the search process, as needed.
  • Write client proposals, power point presentations and other documents and correspondence, as needed.
  • Conduct and write candidate references for submittal to clients.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Relevant experience in recruitment, operations, research, or nonprofit administration a plus.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with demonstrated experience drafting job descriptions, outreach materials, and professional correspondence.
  • High emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills to build relationships with candidates, clients, and team members.
  • Highly computer literate; proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel.
  • A proactive, detail-oriented and collaborative mindset with a commitment to excellence.
  • Sense of humor a must.

This is largely a remote position with in-person at HRL offices as needed.

The salary is expected to be in the range of $60,000-$75,000.
