Park City Transit, operated by the Park City Municipal Corporation, is searching for a dynamic Transit Manager to lead the department in providing transportation services, with its fleet of diesel and electric buses, to a vibrant community that swells to over 100,000 residents and visitors during peak season, and serves two million people annually. As a potential host of another Winter Olympics in 2034, Park City is looking for a leader who will be on the cutting edge of preparing the system to provide large scalable mobility services.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
The Transit Manager will provide leadership and direction to the operations team consisting of 70-130 supervisors, managers and operators. S/he will manage all internal functions such as maintenance, administration, budgeting, planning, procurement, contract & project management, marketing, and customer service, with a strong focus on on-time reliability, safety, and customer service.
S/he will manage the system using the latest transit industry management practices and emerging technologies, while possessing exceptional interpersonal, presentational, and communication skills to ensure that the Transportation Director, the Park City Council, and the community, are regularly and fully informed about plans to maintain and improve service.
The Transit Manager will sustain an inclusive and equitable working environment through effective hiring, cultural leadership, and ongoing performance and development strategies while ensuring compliance with all laws and regulations including ADA, EEO, DBE, DOT, FMLA, and FTA. S/he must also nurture constructive external partnerships with local, state and federal elected officials, including the Federal Transit Administration (FTA).
Required Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree from an accredited program in a related field or equivalent or an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience.
· 3-5 years of increasingly responsible experience in the transit industry/transit operations.
· 3-5 years of experience in a supervisory role.
· Knowledge of relevant State and Federal laws and regulations governing passenger transportation.
· Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) driving experience preferred
